Reunion With Your Birth Parent
The decision to have a reunion meeting with a birth parent is a very individual decision. Adopted people can have very different views on the subject. For some a reunion is a vital element in their sense of identity and they will be certain that they wish to go ahead with a reunion. For others it is less important to meet a birth parent. Some people are content with a background of the circumstances surrounding their adoption, while others would like to exchange letters and photographs. There is no defined blueprint for this process and each person will wish to proceed according to their own individual needs and wishes.
If you feel that you would like to find out more about reunions, please contact one of our social workers for a confidential, no obligations, discussion.
