If you decide that you may wish to trace your birth mother or birth father or any siblings, we can help you through that process. We offer initial counselling and help to undertake searches. Our records will have the last known address of your birth parents. However, it is likely that your birth parents will have moved since then. Our social workers are very experienced in tracing birth parents, and will offer their experience and help. We can assist you to undertake the searches yourself, or we can undertake the searches on your behalf. We can provide details of other organisations and contact registers for adopted people. These can be especially useful when people have moved overseas. We normally arrange for an exchange of letters for a period of time dependent upon your views and those of your birth parent. We offer the use of our premises and the support of our social workers if you wish to arrange a reunion with your birth parent.
