We will accept applications from couples or in some cases from single people.

For children under two, the younger partner must be 39 or under at the beginning of the assessment and no more than 41 at the time of placement. 
This criteria may be reviewed in certain circumstances and is more flexible for older children or sibling groups.

We expect applicants to have been married for at least two years.

We will not accept an application if you are involved in ongoing, or are about to start fertility treatment, or if you have major heath problems.

If a birth parent has requested a particular religious upbringing for a child we would place the child with a couple who practice that religion.

Applicants will be subject to Disclosure Scotland checks and should live in the West of Scotland.
